Focus report.
Where the house should concentrate so it is stronger, faster, easier to run — and still able to do many things at once. Not a rate card. Not a tender bid.
Verdict. Keep twelve capabilities on the profile. Sell three offers: Objects, Rooms, Brands (Face). Leave in a hand. Simple on WhatsApp. Do not staff twelve departments. Do not open a cart.
1. The enterprise
100% Motswana. MD-led. Plot 23485, Phase 4, Gaborone. Incorporated 2006. Goitseone Ketlhalefile still signs every page. Twelve services. Flagship IP: Mobi-styler. Proof already public: Gee’s Biltong, Oodi Weavers, furniture restore, residential 3D, media.
Breadth wins the meeting. Breadth without a hub loses the diary. Cash is tight. She prefers a profile she can send tonight. That is rational. The website is the address that keeps that profile current.
We will not invent CIPA numbers, tax clearance, or PPADB class. Tenders will ask. Paperwork is a venture, not a sentence on a pretty page.
2. The market
Botswana still buys design on WhatsApp, referrals and a meeting. A company profile is a required attachment for many public and corporate doors. Citizen-owned firms get preference on designated PPADB categories — only if they are registered. CEDA funds 100% citizen businesses later, not this week’s airtime.
Rooms in Gaborone are crowded (KED, Sasa, Leseding, Boss, Zoetic and dozens of interior architects). That is cashflow if she stays on climate, restore, and sign-off — not on being the cheapest tiler.
Tourism recovered toward pre-Covid arrivals (about 1.18 million international in 2023). Top lodges are often specified from Johannesburg and Cape Town. The gap is a Motswana house for mid-market lodges, guesthouses and Gaborone hotels: room + mark + content.
Objects and packs sit next to UB Industrial Design and local SMEs who need BOBS and tooling. Few branding agencies will sit with a factory. Gee’s Biltong is proof.
Mobi-styler is not a hair-straightener catalogue war. It is a Botswana-designed mobile shampooing unit. Next step: one paying prototype client.
3. Concentrate — three offers
GK Designs is a Motswana house for objects, rooms and brands that have to live in this climate.

Audits, service design, ergonomics, PM, mentoring travel inside those three. They are not twelve shopfronts. Mentoring runs as dated intakes, not a leaking menu.
4. Venture — later, in order
- PPADB + tax clearance + CIPA sleeve behind Simple.
- One Mobi-styler paying prototype. Then license, batch, or CEDA — not a factory on hope.
- Lodge retainer once two Gaborone retainers exist.
- Shop licences by EFT (pages already exist).
- SADC export only after one Botswana factory relationship is boring.
Not a venture: thirty more profile templates, Stripe, stock video, civic architecture, a second city.
5. Faster and easier, still many things at once
Hub-and-spoke. Media shoots the room she designed. Brand rides the product. Partners for engineer, printer, factory. Monday queue (max five jobs). Invoice on the 1st. Say no if it is not Rooms / Objects / Face.
Leave in the hand. Simple in the chat. House and Capabilities only when a desk asks. Stop asking her to choose among thirty files.
6. Ninety days
Week 1. Print 20× Leave. Send Simple to everyone who already asked. Merge the session PR into main, Cloudflare production = main, so gkdesigns.pages.dev matches.
Month 1. Two Rooms or Face conversations in Gaborone. One Objects conversation. A folder: CIPA, tax, Omang, extract.
Month 3. One retainer on the 1st, even if small. One story from the archive with a WhatsApp link. No new templates.
7. Risks
Breadth without a hub. Interiors price war. IP without a user. Beautiful Capabilities with no PPADB class. Shop pages with no way to collect Pula. Founder as single point of failure — a written queue and one trusted maker is succession-lite.
